Biography

I’m Davide Semprini (H.1), musician and sound engineer. Over the years, I’ve worked on lo-fi, hip hop, and singer-songwriter productions, shaping the sound as an integral part of the song’s narrative.

During my career, my music has reached over 230 million streams across all platforms. I spend my days in the studio, producing, mixing, and mastering both my music and my clients’ tracks. I am particularly experienced in hip hop, especially lo-fi.

I’ve studied with some of the best: IRKO, Pretolesi, David Wrench, and many others. My training includes 2 years of drums with Christian Capiozzo, 6 years of piano with Francesco Cavasini, 2 years at Fonoprint, 1 year with Salvatore Addeo — owner of Aemme Studios Recording — and numerous masterclasses with prominent producers and engineers.

As a musician, I know how important it is for the artist to see themselves reflected in the final result.

My Sound and Artistic Background

My musical background is very diverse. I am a drummer who has played soft rock, hard rock, indie-pop, post-rock, and post-metal. My main reference bands have been AC/DC, then Tool, and later Mogwai, Pelican, and Neurosis.

I explored music production through electronic music: Brian Eno’s ambient, acid, jungle via Aphex Twin, and the downtempo sounds of Boards of Canada. My musical journey also includes techno. I’ve worked as a DJ, performed in clubs, and participated in events along the Romagna coast. My sets ranged from Enrico Sangiuliano to Emily Lens.

Over time, I developed a passion for lo-fi music, where I was able to synthesize these musical experiences while entering a new world: instrumental hip hop. Among my favorite artists are Nujabes, Idealism, and in Italy, Neffa and Clavergold.

Thanks to piano lessons over the past five years, I’ve also deepened my knowledge of classical music, with Schumann being one of my favorite composers.

My project H.1 brings together these very different musical dimensions, also integrating my expertise in sound engineering. I’ve had the pleasure of mixing genres such as trap, pop, indie pop, drill, rock, and techno.

These experiences make me an excellent professional in the field of sound engineering.
